Scent producing TVs: "Listen, do you smell something?" will become a reality... one day

The basis for the the #scent technology has been around for a very long time and had a commercial entertainment application over 50 years ago in a movie called #Scent_of_Mystery . The Japanese invention described here actually takes scent to the next level by making it #directional , allowing for the illusion that specific things on your screen actually produce a smell. It is like surround sound for scents and odors. #GhostBusters

#David_Edwards on creating an aromatic language for 'more sensual communication'

The ultimate aim, says Edwards lies in "creating an aromatic language", through which each 3aroma is a letter that might eventually be able to strung together in sentences and essays, or even used to have a whole conversation, allowing for "much more sensual communication". #scent #smell
