The Reynolds Building is a 314 feet (96 m) skyscraper with 21 floors in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, completed in 1929.
It was to become the prototype for the #EmpireStateBuilding designed by Shreve, Lamb and Harmon pretty much the same year.

On 10/2013 shares of Empire State Realty Trust Inc., whose office properties include the iconic 102-story #EmpireStateBuilding , raised $929.5 million in one of the largest initial public offerings of a United States real estate investment trust, or REIT.

The 71.5 million shares priced at $13, at the low end of the expected range. The REIT will trade under the symbol #ESRT on the New York Stock Exchange.

The #EmpireStateBuilding was the first building to have more than 100 floors. It has 6,500 windows that are washed twice a month. It was said that it was modeled after a #pencil .

One of the last notable buildings from Shreve, Lamb and Harmon is located on Park Avenue at 33rd Street in New York City, built in 1976. The building is a 554-foot-tall (169 m) and designed by the same group who designed the #EmpireStateBuilding

In a rather modern way, the movie King Kong (1933) was able to raise the awareness from people of the #EmpireStateBuilding who until that point had not been a significant tourist attraction. Tenancy also climbed dramatically because the building was depicted as a sturdy and safe work place.
