The average person merely believes (without ever confirming with their own eyes) that Earth is a ball, and for some reason is convinced that not believing it's a ball is the mark of insanity. But as the videos on this page show, direct/empirical observation supports Earth as flat, not a ball, and any simple direct observation overrides any theoretical (non-direct) information.
